In what is believed to be the first trial under the Online Safety Act 2023, two defendants have been sentenced for numerous charges including three counts of encouraging or assisting serious self-harm contrary to section 184 of the Online Safety Act 2023.

Jonathan Mole was instructed to prosecute in this substantial operation, following a complex joint investigation between the County Line and Gangs team within Kent Police and the Operation Orochi team at the Metropolitan Police.
